What technical challenges does iPIPS pose?
As noted, PIPS has already been used in several countries over many years, to assess children’s development at the start of school and to measure their progress in the first year. This includes English-speaking countries such as Australia, England, New Zealand and Scotland, and others such as the Netherlands and Germany. CEM has established a working model for the longitudinal assessment of children and has published research on comparisons in some developmental areas. The iPIPS adaptive assessment can be adjusted to different cultures and languages relatively easily and there is a secure on-line facility for the upload of assessment data. Several thousand schools have used this facility without problems.
